One of my favorite parts of Big Words, Bright Minds is that we don't pretend every syllable has a meaning.
Syllables help us SAY it. Word parts help us UNDERSTAND it.
When a word contains meaningful prefixes, roots, or suffixes, learners explore them and see how they connect to the word's meaning. When a word doesn't break apart neatly, the Word Study Note explains that too.
Because learning how language actually works is more valuable than memorizing a pattern that isn't really there.
